Materials Used 2- 4.5 oz skeins of TLC Essentials Choco Cherry (I used very little of 2nd skein)
Hook Size H
Measurements

Size: approx. size 4/5/6x Because of the waist...I believe this could go up to a size 6x/6, depending on the child.

Notes

Ch 85, sl st tog to form a circle.  Be careful not to twist the chain.

Round 1: BLO: Ch 2, hdc in same st. Hdc in each st around. Sl st tog to the first hdc, not the ch 2.  This pulls the stitches tog so to not leave a hole.  Do this throughout the skirt.

Round 2: Both loops of yarn from now and throughout: Ch 2, hdc in the same st.  Hdc in each st around.  Sl st tog.

Rounds 3-25: Repeat Round 2.

Round 26: 1st round of shells: This is worked in the front loops only of Round 25. Ch 3, 4dc in same st.  *Skip 2 sts, sc, skip 2sts, 5dc shell in next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog. Fasten off.

Round 27: 2nd round of shells: This is worked in the back loops only of Round 25. Attach yarn to the back loop of the first shell from Round 26, Ch 3, 6dc in the same st. *Skip over to sc from previous round, sc. Skip to next shell, and 7dc shell.  Repeat from * around. Sl st tog. Fasten off and weave in ends.

After all ends are weaved in, fold top row of shells up.  This will lay nicely along the skirt.  Now you have a flower edging.

I use 1/4" elastic on all my daughter’s clothes. So I take the ¼" elastic, measure it to my daughter and cut it. Then I sew the one end into a circle. Then I sc the elastic to the first row of hdc of the skirt. (sc around the elastic not through it) Fasten off and weave in ends.
