These pictures are the original pictures from the first website I had.  Because I gave some items as gifts or no longer have some items or for other reasons are not able to redo the pictures with my new website’s name.  Please excuse these pictures and the wrong website name; thank you!

Materials Used Caron One Pounder acrylic "Scarlet" yarn...I would estimate 8 ounces of yarn since it's about half of the skein.
Hook Size H
Measurements Size 4
Notes Yarn substitution: 4 ply Cotton yarn could be substituted for warm climates. If you needed the skirt smaller, you could substitute sport yarn

Gauge: 3 hdc = 1 inch or 4 sc = 1 inch

Measurements of finished product: 25" waist and 18 1/2" long

Approx. sizing: girls 4.  I would say it could be a 6x also as the waist is bigger.  Even with the elastic, the waist is not tight.  I make all of Shaelynn's clothing bigger to get more use out of it.

Round 1: Ch 84, sl st tog to form a ring.  Careful do not twist the chain.

Round 2: Ch 2, hdc in the same st and then hdc in each stitch around. Sl st into the first hdc not the ch 2.  This closes up the hole so there is no hole in the back.  Use this technique throughout the whole skirt.

Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same st and then sc in each stitch around. Sl st tog.

Round 4: Ch 2, hdc in the same st and then hdc in each stitch around. Sl st tog.

Round 24: Back Loops Only from now on: Ch 3, *dc in the next 5 sts, then 2dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog.

Round 25-29: Ch 3, dc in each st around. Sl st tog.

Round 30: Ch 3, *dc in the next 5 sts, then 2dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog.

Round 31-34: Ch 3, dc in each st around. Sl st tog.

Round 35: Ch 3, *dc in the next 5 sts, then 2dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog.

Round 36-39: Ch 3, dc in each st around. Sl st tog.

Round 40: Bottom Edging: Ch 5, sc in Back Loop of Row 39. Repeat around. Sl st tog. Then Ch 5 and sc in Front Loop of Row 39 all the way around. Sl st tog. DO NOT FASTEN OFF.

Now you are working up the skirt in the front loops making ruffles.  Sl st up the back seam carefully to the next row. Ch 5 and sc in the front loops of that row all the way around. Repeat process. up the skirt in the following pattern.

3 rows up from bottom are ruffled.  Then skip 2 rows. Then 3 rows of ruffles. Then skip 2 rows. Then the last 3 rows of ruffles.

Waist band
I used ¼” elastic. I cut it to fit my daughter and then sc around it and through to the stitches from the first chain. Work all the way around and fasten off and weave in ends.
