These are button paperclips. I layered buttons or used speciality buttons to make these up. They are going to go to teachers, who will be able to give them to older students. They can be used as bookmarks, or as a regular paperclip to mark notebooks. Very versatile and great craft to do with older kids who can use a glue gun. These paperclips were the normal office "jumbo" paperclips that you buy from Walmart in the big box. 

The second picture I made up these speciality buttons for my daughter's friends to go for birthday gifts. We have them set aside and they will go with their gifts at a later date.

The great thing about buttons is there are so many kinds and so many possiblities. You can get them for yard sales, thrift stores, for your family members and from sales at the craft stores.
