These pictures are the original pictures from the first website I had.  Because I gave some items as gifts or no longer have some items or for other reasons are not able to redo the pictures with my new website’s name.  Please excuse these pictures and the wrong website name; thank you!

First picture is before felting. Measurements: waist without elastic 27" and length 15" from top to bottom.

Second picture after felting. Measurements: waist with elastic in it 22" and length 12 1/4" from top to bottom.

I did put the elastic in before felting.

Materials Used 2 skeins of 100% Peruvian Wool
Hook Size  H
Measurements girls approx size 4
Notes  This could be made longer depending on the height of the child.

Ch 100, sl st tog to form a ring. Be careful not to twist!

Round 1: Ch 2, hdc in same st and then hdc in each st around. Sl st into the first hdc, not the ch 2.  This pulls the sts tog and so there isn't a hole.  This will be repeat throughout the entire skirt.

Round 2: Ch 2, hdc in same st and then hdc in each st around. Sl st tog.

Round 3-19: Repeat Round 2.

Round 20: Ch 2, hdc in the same st, then hdc in the next 4 sts. 2 hdc in the next st.  *Hdc in the next 4 sts, 2 hdc in next st. Repeat from *  around.  Sl st tog.

Round 21-39: Ch 2, hdc in same st and then hdc in each st around. Sl st tog.

Round 40: Ch 1, sc in next st. Sc in each st around. Sl st tog. Fasten off and weave in all ends.

I use elastic on all my daughter’s clothes. So I take the ¼ inch elastic, measure it to my daughter's waist and cut. Then I sew the one end into a circle. Then I sc the elastic to the first row of the skirt. Fasten off and weave in ends.

I felted this in my washer through 3 hot wash/cold rinse water cycles.  It may take more or less depending on your washer.

www.anniesattic.com and www.woolcrafting.com both have good information about felting on them.
